It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a team that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"An opportunity to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this World Cup want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.
